Where on Eartha
Although it sits off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore is a self-governing microstate. Since 1965, it has been politically unaffiliated with Malaysia, its neighbor to the north. While most respondents to March’s Where on Eartha challenge were able to name the city, a surprisingly high percentage assumed it was the Malaysian capital.

From those who recognized its status as a city state and provided Singapore as both the name of the capital and country, the first entrant randomly drawn belongs to David Gregory from the NASA Wallop Flight Facility in Virginia. For his trouble, David will soon be receiving a copy of XMap 7 Professional and an Earthmate® LT-40 GPS receiver.

For April our global tour continues to another capital city in another country. Name both and you could be this month’s XMap winner. After examining the image below, send your guess in an email to contest@delorme.com, making sure it arrives on or before May 16, 2010.

Good luck!
