DeLorme' XMap 5.2 GIS Editor supports the PN-20 handheld GPS receiver, making it easier to nagivate and verify the GPS accuracy of your critical business data.
Deploy Key Business Data
XMap 5.2 GIS software manages the GPS data Land Engineers collect and require. XMap 5.2 and the Earthmate GPS PN-20 is a cost effective field data management system that can help manage various Survey projects providing easily retrievable storage for your geographic files. XMap is also provides critical data to PN-20 users for field use ? aerial imagery, topographic maps, and critical GIS datasets like critical habitats, easements, parcels, or municipal zones.
Field Collect Location Data
Use the Earthmate PN-20 to collect accurate location data for work on boundary points, measurement stations, site assessment and much more. Collect and label waypoints or GPS track files and upload them into XMap for integration into your GIS.
Navigate with GPS
Land Engineers need to navigate to remote areas. GPS technology on a handheld receiver or a laptop computer can pinpoint and record your position within meters and provide continually updated point-to-point or address-to-address directions. With the PN-20 in your pocket, you can travel with confidence knowing that this innovative device will help you stay on track. Create detailed routes on the desktop at home and export them to the PN-20. Reroute or create new routes in the field, on-the-fly.

Choose from a variety of base data sets including USGS 7.5 Minute Quads, Color DOQQs, DeLorme USA Topographic Data or import other common file formats.
Topographic Maps Included
No extra maps to buy. Includes XMap USA Topographic Data DVD base data with full, updated U.S. topographic and street maps to export as needed to your PN-20. Also includes an on-device highway-level world base map.
View Aerial Imagery in the Field
Download imagery views from DeLorme’s growing library of aerial imagery including Color DOQQs, Sat-10 colorized satellite imagery, and scanned USGS 7.5-minute quads using XMap 5.2’s NetLink tab.
Multiple Views of the Same GPS Location
On-device data layering lets you select which map or imagery type to see for your GPS location. Switch among data types to gain a comprehensive view of where you are—it’s revolutionary and provides a whole new level of geographic detail.
Access Recent Aerial Imagery at Low or No Cost
Recent and hi-resolution aerial imagery is often made available for no cost or low cost at GIS Web sites sponsored by local, state or federal government agencies. These images are usually stored in a GeoTIFF or MrSID format. These formats enable file compression for storage and provide geographic projection information to position the images correctly on a map. This means you can easily download the files and un-zip them into XMap, accurately geo-referenced against a DeLorme base map. XMap 5.2 extends the use of these aerial imagery file formats to the Earthmate GPS PN-20. GeoTIFF and MrSID support is available with all XMap versions. This powerful capability just put aerial imagery in the hands of your field technicians, students or officers.
